UKRAINE’S LARGEST SOLAR TRACKER PLANT COMMISSIONED DURING COVID-19

During the peak months of the Covid-19, Ukraine’s largest solar plant with trackers provided a challenging but ideal test bench to Soltigua’s remote commissioning processes.

Supporting Greengenius, Soltigua successfully concluded the commissioning of trackers for a 33 MW plant in Lyubar (Zhytomyr region).

The commissioning was executed by using SolControlSoltigua’s cloud-based SCADA, which had been conceived from the beginning to be optimized for remote assistance and monitoring of the solar plant. An innovative feature tested in Lyubar was Soltigua’s new and intuitive mobile based app, which enabled the fast and simple commissioning of individual trackers with no need for specific skills for on-site staff.

The remote communication system supported Soltigua’s virtual presence on site,, for checking the correct functioning of the sensors and of the communication system, and also for guiding step-by step the on-site staff in every step of the configuration, as well as for training them

Thanks to the analytical features of SolControl, the commissioning of every single tracker could be then remotely controlled and validated.

“The remote commissioning of the plant was definitely a positive experience. Soltigua offered a reliable and effective service. Given the Covid-19 outbreak, we were convinced that a few months had to pass in order to finalize the commissioning, but Soltigua’s SCADA design and the skills of its staff, helped of complete the process” stated Simonas Sileikis, Head of Solar Business at Green Genius.

Apart from the obvious benefit of making the commissioning possible during these challenging times, this experience provided a soldi platform for cost reduction and improved flexibility also for future projects – said Soltigua’s CTO Vittorio Orioli – a key additional asset in the rapidly growing world of solar trackers.”
